Can't fill tank
2 times in a row when filling my tank at 2 different gas stations it won't let me put in more than 12 gallons fom empty. (3/4 tank)
The pump just won't go any further.
Anyone know WTF that's about?
Car runs great.

Yeah, because the Walbro starts to tweak a little (FP bumps up and down slightly) only when under 1/8th tank. It was doing that, so I'm sure it was reading right.
Are you sure the gas stations don't have the pumps set to stop at a pre-determined spending limit (like $20). There's a station here that stops at $20 even using the card reader on the pump. I have to go into the store to ask them to reset it. Freaky the first time it happened.

This is 2 different gas stations - 2 different brands (Chevron and Shell).
I've used both gas stations in the past an was able to fill my tank up no problem. Also, the charge was $24.86 - that doesn't sound like a preset stop limit to me.
There is definately something wrong with the car here.

The gas light was on.
As I said before:
1) 2 different stations, 2 different pumps.
2) I know my gas was low because the FP gauge was starting to tweak - a sure sign gas is low. (nothing wrong with the fuel gauge)
3) Car only filled to 3/4 of a tank - 12 gallons. 15-16 gallons is usually "full".
4) There was no price limit set on either of the pumps.
it's starting to sound like noone has ever had this problem before with a Maxima.
However, reading general car Foums it may be an EVAP problem.
I guess I'll just tear the fuel system apart and find out.
Suck.

Did you try putting the fuel nozzle in different positions? If I put the nozzle fully in the tank, it'll click off at random points, but if I pull it out a bit, it'll fill up completely with out any problems. Sometimes I even have to turn the nozzle on an angle slightly. Heh, ****es off the attendants when they go to fill it up, so I usually make sure I get out quickly and fill it up before they get to it to save some bother

If I had 1/4 tank of sludge, I'm sure the fuel lines would get clogged pretty bad and the car wouldn't even run.
Also, this wasn't gradual as that condition would show. This just started happening a week ago.
