Resonator HP

I am doing 2.5 inch B-piping for a nitrous maxima. How much horsepower will be lost via the resonator?

You are not going to lose/gain any hp whether you have a resonator or not in the B pipe. It will simply change the sound of the exhaust.

How will both setups below sound compared to each other?? For example..

Budget Y ---> stock cat ---> unresonated b-pipe ---> stock muffler

as to..........

Budget Y ---> stock cat ---> resonated b-pipe ---> stock muffler

It'll prolly sound pretty crappy either way... but less refined without the resonator. The resonator quiets it down a bit and smooths out the noise.

Wouldn't worry too much about losing HP from a ersonator...but I WOULD worry about the car being INSANELY loud without it. I haven't done my y-pipe yet and have an 18" glasspack resonator and the car can be a bit loud at low RPM.

I honestly couldnt tell you, I got my stillen muffler as the 1st exhaust upgrade, and then the y pipe and then the res. b pipe. All with the stock cat. Not sure about w/ the stock b pipe, but it'll be a little more raspy w/o the resonator in the b pipe.

Get the resonator, I went without the first time on my 97 and it is a raspy sort of sound which goes away with the addition of the resonator.

As was mentioned earlier, no loss in the resonator its straight through.
