Deeper rumble at idle. Amplifies intake sound. Slightly more noisy, but in an aggressive non-ricey way. When you add a muffler bring on the rice.

I wouldn't call it a rumble. From outside, it sounds pretty much the same. From inside, it's louder, it sounds like the car is running badly. Like an idle from a beat up old car. Might get a slight hissing noise at higher rpms. It doesn't sound good. But that's ok, because it wasn't meant as a sound mod, like a catback.

What? It's not like that at all.

I have the Budget Y and stock cat-back. There's a deeper exhaust noise up to about 1500 RPM or so. Beyond that, there is no difference in sound.

Big question: Y pipe causes decrease or increase in mpg?

Yeah? I have a budget too.... It's deeper and raspier, and can hear more of the individual cylinders firing. It sounds like my parents old subaru. I guess it comes down to individual ears.
