HAI adapter

I was lookin through the how to's and i finaly decided to put an intake on my max. I'm eventualy going to to the hybrid setup but first i have to put a filter on. Its a cheap atozone 1 but i will soon get a k&n or maybe a HKS 1.

any way the point is that i was following brianv's instructions an then when i did it i realize just how crapy of a job that is. (no offense) There was like a 3mm gap at some points where the filter meets the MAFS. I tride straitining the peice but i still couldn't get it good enough. I realy am picky about geting un filterd air, after all it can cause major damage. o yeah an the duck tape, thats not makin me feel very safe. What do you guys use for adapters instead of the gold peice that came out of the airbox? or is there a way to make what i have work? Thanks

PS feel free to recomend filters to me.
