Maxima Check Engine Light Too Sensitive?

Is it just me or do there seem to be a lot of posts on the servive engine/check engine lights?
My old Camry has a light but it has never come on, cept at Startup.
i do not see much talk about the CEls on the Camry forum either. NOT trying to start a Camry Max war either.

Is the Maxima light too sensitive?

Mine just came on
car runs fine
Infiniti dealer want S105 to look at it

I'd rather it throw a code when something isn't working correctly than not and wait until something more expensive breaks.

and you can check them yourself, no need to pay someone.

I agree with DrX. Car can run fine even thought there's something wrong with it.

My 95 Maxima has never had a CEL and I've owned it for almost 3 years now.
