can someone run a search for me on how to test my ignition coil?
do you test the coil when it is outside the car or when it is in the engine?
if it is in the engine do we test it while the car is on or off?
and the specs on what a good coil should give out and what a bad coil should give out thnaks?

infinite resistance and continuity should be indicated but not zero.

 

do you test it installed when engine is not running, or it should it give the same results when off?
My engine is running a little funny when idle, so I wanted to change spark plugs and check coils as well.
I30tMikeD, can you run a search on what to do in order to fix dash lights? Nothing lights up in my car except dome and door lights.
