where to get the vinyl to red out 95/96 tails?
I went to a local hobby lobby and asked for Red Translucent Vinyl Tape like vqpower.com asked for and I got blank stares. I have looked at several other places and have emailed some of the distributors for Oracle 8500 Transluscent Vinyl with no reply. I asked for a small piece not a huge roll of 15" by 10 yards. I could do a caravan of tail lights with 30'. For those of you who have done this mod where did you get the vinyl? Do I really have to get a huge roll that I could basically start a group deal with?

I was having a hard time finding it for my Jeep as well. You can get a free sample from Oracal.com, they give you a sheet of 10x8 #30 dark red. Thats what I did, but it was not big enough to do both tailights. But it did let me know that the color matched good. So after some searching on the RSX forums, I found this site http://www.pacificcoastsignsupply.co...log/pg_ora.htm and today I ordered the Oracal 8300 Transparent in #30 dark red. I ordered a sheet of 24"x2 Yards, which is way too much. I should have gotten the 24"x1 Yard. It cost me $16, if you get 24"x1 yard it would probely cost about $10. But I will have plenty left over if I ever need to redo the tails, or use it for something else. The #30 dark red is about the best match I am going to get with the Jeep tails, you can tell its there as it looks a little bit lighter than the rest of the taillight. But only up close, when you step back it all blends right in. The RSX people use #31 red, but since the dark red appears a bit lighter on my tails, I figured that the standard red would be even more noticeably light on my tails. I am not sure which color would work better for the Maxima, but I would guess the #30 dark red, since RSX tails are pretty light. You could always do what I did and get a sample from Oracal and see how it matches up. And also run a search for "red out vinyl" on the club RSX forums for a lot of info. I hope that helps!

Thanks a lot, #31 looks pretty good from what I have seen in pictures. I assume that is the color everyone else is using since no one has ever said that it looks too light. At least the ambers will be gone.
