Electric window problem

The car is a '96 Infiniti I30 and the right rear window has fallen inside the door. I can pick it up, but it just goes right back down. This happened to the right rear door a year or two ago and I had it fixed for about $180. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

sounds like a broken regulator...check out a haynes for easy replacement..it just involves taking apart your door.

What he said. You need a regulator from a local junkyard. You can do this yourself.

Thank the both of you for your responses. I will try that.

I need to read the FAQ and IMPORTANT threads before posting a question

Whoever put the above sentence after my name can go **** themselves. I tried to do a search and it was disabled. I went to the area to join the forum and that is shut down too. I did read the FAQ and didn't see anything there. WTF? I bet I could have found the answer with a search.

haha...well everyone has that until they post 50 times. its SUPPOSED to keep people from asking if the tornado air actually adds 30fwhp and if anyone on the .org has heard of the electric supercharger cause they saw it on ebay for 29.95 and they want to buy 5 of them and put them ALL on.

the FAQs are just a start and not every answer to every question is in there.

Use some permatex plastic weld or "3m uber glue" from any local auto place...it should cost you $5 or less. Take apart the door, and regulator (eg...wires, pulleys, wires on pulleys...etc..), and find the broken plastic piece. If you're mechanically inclined, you should realize the piece that is broken, and fill in with a plastic weld compound.
