Intro on my 4th gen and me. A few questions.

Sup,

My name is Prophecy and this is my first Maxima Ive ever owned. Ive wanted one of these for years but only recenlty had the time and $ to buy one I wanted. So I know a good deal about them and have admired them for a while

I got a 96 Maxima GXE with 83,000 Miles on it.

Has all the options of that year including the bose sound system, moon roof, leather etc etc.

I have been reading these forums for 3 days solid now and there is soo much information and so many suggestions but I got a few more questions if you more expirenced users dont mind.

1) Where should I get a spoiler for my car? I want something a little larger than the OEM but not to much larger. If you suggest a site please post it and why.

2) What OIL are you using? I have heard alot of good things with the Mobile1 brand. But at the same time read good things about Castrol Syn and Penzoil .. Read Penzoil is the cleanest.

3) What is considered a good overall TINT percentage. I was thinking 15 or 20%.

Ill update my pictures as soon as I get my tint and so forth this week.

1. get the type x spoiler. it looks like the OEM spoiler but it sits alittle higher. check in the group deals section. there is a group buy going on for it. you can get it for cheap. looks really sweet

2. synthetic oil is best. most people who pay for synthetic usually go with mobil 1

3. IMO 20-25% is good percentage. not too light and not too dark

btw that looks like a clean max, congrads and welcome to the .org

Does your maxima have alloy wheels, or automatic climate control. If so, it may be a GLE. If not, it may be a rare loaded GXE, with aftermarket leather. If you want to use synthetic Mobil 1 is good. But I think a good conventional oil, like Castrol GTX or some other brand would probably work just as well. I've heard that Pennzoil causes varnish. I'd just get a quality filter and oil, and change them every 3K miles. I'd spend the maintence money on automatic transmission filters and fluid, coolant flushes.

if you have hubcaps, then you have a super rare loaded GXE. if you have alloy wheels, then you have a regular GLE.

for more oil detail, check out bill's recommendation >> http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=227996

don't use FRAM oil filter, they sux. use OEM filter.
