Tail Light Fuse

i got a 97 se and i kept blowing my tail light fuse whenever i hard throttle on cold. when the fuse is out, the tail light would still work only if i brake but the side markers and corner lamps wouldnt turn on even when i have the lights on. and after blowing so many fuses and running out of 7.5 amp fuse, i put in a 10 amp fuse temporarily until i could figure out what is wrong. now, i got some more 7.5 amp fuses and replaced it and it wouldnt even last few minutes before it blows out again. 10 amp fuse still works but when i brake with the headlight off, it automatically lights up the side markers and corner lamps along with it and the interior lights dim as if the head lights were on. when the brake is let go, everything goes back to normal. whenever i have the head lights on, everything is normal. anyone ever heard of this problem? any info or suggestion would help alot. i know i must have shorted out something somewhere but dont know where. anyone?

NEVER EVER put higher fuse than stock spec. in the long run u'll kill your internal wiring harness, and it'll cost a lot more than just a 25 cents fuse.

i would check the connection of the headlight and socket, make sure the bulbs are in stock spec. u can either:

1. wrap the bulb around with electric tape to secure the voltage
2. buy new bulbs

its not the head lights, head lights work fine, its the tail lights...
i would put in the 7.5 amp fuse but it wont even last few minutes, so i have the 10 amp fuse in right now. i know its not safe but its the only way i could drive around without getting pulled over again.

i had similar problem, it turned out that my socket was messed up. i went to junk yard and pick up a new socket and re-attach the bulb. everything work out fine.
