Nismo LSD!!

Nismo has released an LSD we can buy thru our dealerships for the Altima ('93-'01) and we have the same transmissions..

Its specs are: 4-pinion; 30 lb-ft breakaway torque.Checkout the LSD here..

Cool...I wonder if other companies will be coming out with these soon. The reason I say, is because everything Nismo makes is highly overpriced for what it is. I mean, come on, a FSTB for $200+? What in the world?

I hope these will get more and more popular.

Well higher priced FSTBs are made of higher grade materials.. IMHO this undercuts the Qualife by a good amount.

Undercut it in price, as in the NISMO version would actually be cheaper. I haven't seen many "cheap", quality LSD's floating around for other cars.

Eric the automatic is the same as well. It's kinda lame considering the extra power of the Maxima.

I am dumb in regards to this breakaway and the LSD. Without flaming, would someone quickly explain what all the breakaway is? I understand what a VLSD does, just not all the jargon that goes on in here. ha ha

The way I understand it, it's the amount of torque required to be applied to one wheel to make it spin (make the disks slip) when the other is fixed in place. In other words, the difference in torque between the wheels.

Is this correct?
