Rattle From Broken Gasket?

I have took a look at my whole exhaust system last week because ive been getting a rattle at low rpms, when i rev, and when i change gears. It looks like Not the front pipe down from the y pipe but the second one, that the gasket was blown, and all my bolts were loose ?? Would the broken gasket have fallen into the y pipe and be caught at the CAT? I def. hear all the noise coming from the CAT ? Any help would be great !!!

thanks guys

get new exhaust gasket, tighten the bolts, add exhaust wrap, remove heat shield to see if it fixes the problem....

wouldn't i need to get piece/pieces out of the exhaust first? Second, where do you get exhaust wrap, and what is the function of it?

thanks

the gasket probably shouldnt fall into the y and stick in the cat, BUT the possiblity is there. I would suggest gettign new bolts, new gasket, and removing the entire y - pipe to the cat, inspect the inside of the cat, and inspect the inside of the y pipe. once you're sure that nothings stuck inside, replace the the parts and re-install, you don't need header/exhaust wrap, the heat shield is probably not the problem since you already noticed the broken gasket and loose bolts.

If you really want some header wrap i have some for sale, just pm me

check out my thread http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=281182

i still dont see the sense in getting it tho, so first try all the other steps
and see where that gets you good luck

any questions, just pm me.
