Alright there is this kid at my school claiming he will beat any car, this is what he has :

1993 CRX "si"

with b18C
headers / intake/CATBACK
ignition system
cams
pistons
cam gears
pully kit
intake mainifold
plugs/ wires
fuel managemnt system
ignition kit
Mugen ECU and performance chip

Now this is the real kicker, he is telling me his redline is 10,500 rpms. Is this even possible? I know that full blown race motors that are $100k are redlining around 9500-10,000 rpms?

Tell me this kid is nuts and knows nothing about cars.

 

He wont beat anything, but if everythings in proper working order and hes a good driver, i dont see why that thing wont see 13s of some sort. My buddy in his 96 or so hatch is running a B16B, Type-R headers, Apexi catback, no cat, AEM intake, skunk 2 (i think) Cams, cam gears and he runs a 14.4 i believ all-motor and a 13 something on spray.

CRXs especially can be made VERY fast.


Oh, and my buddies civic hatch has SI gauges with the redline being in the high 7000 to 8000rpm range (cant remember). He shifts in the low to mid 9000s, so if built right, i dont see why the CRX couldnt pull 10000 rpms.

He will own you so bad. Sounds like an all motor CRX that does not weight anything. I have a friend at school that has almost the same setup but 14.1 compression. He runs mid-low 12's on slicks and shifts at 9500 rpm.

I am pretty sure that guy runs mid-low 13's on stree tires, maybe even faster.

Do you know anything about cars and are you nuts?

So your gonna insult me because i ask a question? Yes i know a decent amount about cars, but i think this kid is full of himself. I asked if he changed the compression ratio, he said no, he just did the engine swap and the mods i told you . I just dont believe he has a 10,500 redline.

 

he WILL beat you, that car probably weighs 1000lbs less than ours also, with the b18 alone in the CRX should beat you, and i dont believe it redlines at 10500, but close to it

 

I never said he wouldnt beat me. I said he said he would be ANY car which is untrue. i was just asking about the redline and everyone starts flipping ??? I dont understand guys ?

 

no car will beat anycar, well at least not this one. He would get stomped by another CRX with a turbo for instance.
