computer/ks question

how do you check to see that the computer is actually reading the ks, regardless of whether it is good or not??

u mean where to buy an ohmmeter? they should have those around ur local autoshop, if not they can order it for you. then refer to hayne's manual regarding the factor voltage spec of KS.

you can also get a OBD2 scan tool.

You can follow the harness back to a more accesible connector and take a reading there. See my post on KS at http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=254238
Third post down I think.

well what im trying to figure out is whether the ecu is even seeing/using the ks signal because seemingly no matter what signal we put to it using whatever sensor or resistor is runs the same crappy times like it has 150 hp and never acts any different on premium then on regular, so im wondering how to figure out if the ecu is pulling timing.

is there any other reason the ecu would somehow pull that much power other than getting bad signal from the ks?
