Cali spec Y pipe

I heard that the only difference between the fed spec and the cali spec is that instead of removing 2 precats, it only removes 1. If that's the case, would there be any difference in installation? Would I still have to wrap the flex section? Also, what kind of power increase should I expect with a Cali spec pipe? Thanks for the help

I think it still removes all the precats, but you have extra O2 sensors. The Cali spec is more sensative because of California's more rigorous inspections of exhaust emmissions.

The installation is a little different, because there is an extra O2 sensor bung in the cali y-pipe. Other than that, it should be the same.

Nobody has to wrap the flex section. They choose to. Mine is not loud, and I have not wrapped anything. I got a y-pipe from Warpspeed, and I have loved it every second.

You should still expect the same or a very similar power increase with the cali spec pipe. You should see probably 15-20hp gain.

Hope this helps.

It only removes one pre-cat, the other pre cat is welded to the front manifold. Installation is a little different, but not by much.
