Is a Maxima a RICER???

There is a raging debate going on between my brother and me. He recently bought a 99 Mustang GT 5-speed and claims that my Maxima is a ricer. He says that since it is made in Japan (Nissan), it's automatically considered "rice". I absolutely disagree. Ricers are 4 bangers which people mod excessively. Ricers are ALL about power/weight ratio. (i.e. 180 hp in a 2300 lb car). Plus, people laugh at ricers when they go by, not maximas. Our cars are classy AND fast. What do you guys think?

BTW, my comeback to him in that he drives a red neck car.

anything can be ricey... throw on some altezzas and some nawwwws stickers and there ya go.. rice. It all depends on how you mod your car... I don't really consider mustangs to be redneck cars... but firebirds and camaros.. that's a different story. Mustangs are a dime a dozen, and while there are a lot of Maximas on the road, you rarely see a modded maxima, which I think is good.. maybe it's just me, but I definitely get tired of seeing modded mustangs on every street corner

Rice is a subjective term... i wish i could tell you to whoop his @ss, but you wont, not if he knows how to drive... at any rate, i think rice is a car that is ugly really, or something that is put on a car that serves no purpose, aesthetically OR performance wise...I.E. enormous aluminum wings on fwd vehicles

any car can be a candidate of rice. it's not the car itself that's rice, it's the 0wner who choose to rice it out which makes it rice.

lastly...who really gives a sh*t? if you like rice go for it. it's your car, do whatever you want with it.

Domestic guys consider any japanese car rice....it's not always a put down to them it's just what they call it.

Now, people like us who own jap cars consider rice as untastefully moded or all show and no go type cars.

I think some need to look up the term "Ricer" now it used to be a ricer was just anything from asia.

But lately its term has evolved to people who make their cars guady or ugly looking by just throwing trash mods or colors in to it.

my 02 cents

tell your bro to learn what is a RICER and then come back.

RICER : Someone who rices up a car
RICE: The riced up car.

To me any stupid mod is automatially considered as rice on ur car. such as BIG wings, HUGE exhaust. dual exhaust on a 4 banger.

btw tell your bro that there are plenty of riced out GT's out there and he should be ashamed because some idiots were such big ricers, they managed to turn a DUMBESTIC into a RICE !!!

JAPAN = RICE

tell his *** that these rices put his DUMBESTIC to shame. i would like to see these DUMBESTIC beasts put out the same hp/L ratio as the japanese RICE.

also make sure you let him know that ford is so DUMB, they still workin with 2V per cylinder and puttin BIG a$$ engines under the hood to gain some power when they could be usin 4 valves per cylinder

i've seen plenty more riced out mustangs around here than riced out maximas. and do the maxima community a big favor by slugging your brother really hard to get the stupid out

I own both, and really just get annoyed always hearing them call any japanese car rice. I normally go and laugh at their blocks splitting at 500hp (most of the classic guys dont even bother with the word rice lol).

F O R D Found on Road Dead, I personally hate mustangs cause there so cheaply engineered, everything inside the car is all plasticky and cheap, it only costs FORD 2k to make that car and they sell it for so much, But anyways, Maximas cant be rice, reason cause I said so lololol.

why the word rice?? why not call it sashimi, sushi, or sake since it's more specific to the japanese culture. Everyone eats rice. What about domestics, german or even korean cars? Should we call those meatloaf, sausages or kimchi?

rice= untasteful mods such as tezzas, big wing, fart can , graphics, and no real performance upgrades...i have seen everything from riced out cameros...mustangs...to of course the honda civic....but typically domestic thugs (dumbasses) consider anything from japan and sometimes europe rice...they just hate it when a FWD V-6 rocks there awesome 5oooooooooooooh

As far as I'm concerned, RICE is a food you eat. If you are going to comment on a car, at least learn the right adjectives in English. I.E. Gaudy, tacky, ugly, excessively modified, all show no go, etc.

Tell you brother the bottom of his Mustang is rusting. If he comes back and calls you it's not, tell him you're were forseeing the short-term future.

one major factor that makes our cars not as ricey, is that we have 4 doors. this does not mean that 4 doors can't be rice, like with a huge wing, exhaust and altezzas (as was stated ealier). When i think of a riced out car, it's when you hear something real loud drive past, and you look to see what it is, and it turns out to be some little red hatchback civic, with a fire extingusher mounted on the A pillar of the window, as it's only other mod. But as long as we keep our cars clean looking and fast, with nothing to flashy, we should never be given the term "ricer".

Exactly!

Originally, rice/ricer, meant anything from asia. The evolution began because of the original ricers that threw the first "overly modded" civics on the "scene". It now has a second meaning derived by those with japanese cars and some taste that don't want to be stereotyped along with those who follow the original ricer hondas. Rice has found it's way to all different types of autos both domestic and foreign.

Since when are 4 cylinders considered rice? My previous 4 cylinder would trash a maxima STOCK. Put $500 into it and it would probably kill 99% of the people on this message board and run a mid-low 13.

Heh no it wasn't me. I had a white one not a red one like in the video (if memory serves me correctly.) I do have a few friends that would give that vette a serious shock though.

Tell him that he needs to make sure he keeps his mullet nice and trimmed, cause it won't look right driving around in his phallic extension without it.
