The mystery bracket? Its gotta do something!

Can someone please tell me what this bracket does. In every picture I can remember it is unused as it is in mine and Massacio's. Is this needed for anything? Particularly 5Spd swap. If its not needed I'm gonna cut the bia off but I'd still like to know what its there for. Is it something for the I30t's or what?

Thanks Nismo. Thats odd though, because Masscio's 99 doesn't use that bracket. Are you saying auto tranny hydraulic lines? That would make sense I guess, all though it would seem odd to have auto tranny lines way up there.

Good call on the none feminine(sp?) issue Tom. Thats why I don't call my max something gay like Maxine. I'll never understand that one. But boats definitely deserve to be called with womanly affectionate terms. I know its changing subject but boats are your home on the sea. It is your mother, your life, you better call her affectionate terms otherwise she'll kick your @ss.

Nismo, thats interesting. Why would Nissan build this bracket into the unibody if it wasn't used until 99? Thats amazing that they were looking at least six years ahead.
