Air Conditioning Intake Question

Air Conditioning Intake Question
Hello all, I'm a newb with a newb question.
Here's the scoop, I get a horrible sour smell from my AC vents, but only after it rains or when the car is washed. It lasts about 1 day, but eventually goes away. Basically, it smells like vinegar and bad feet.
I'm assuming there's something rotting in my AC intake, so I want to pull the intake out and clean out the inside. Has anyone done this here before? Is there any online guides to show me how to do this, without busting every friggin tab?
One last question, is there an online store where I can get replacement tabs, fittings, etc. for Maximas?
Thanks in advance.

The problem you might be facing is that you have mold in your condensor. So basically, everytime you have a relatively humid and warm environment, you get that smell. There is a temporary solution which I have done and works for about a season and that is to buy some automotive vent deodorizer. You want to get a cleaner/deodorizer, not just the fragrance stuff. Follow the directions on the bottle.
The solution you are refering to can be found in a haynes or chiltons shop manual. Have not done it that way personally, but it is not hard.
Sorry I could not be of more assistance.
