I am just curious what your opions are on this. Do you like the '97-'99 SE 5-spokes or the 2000+ SE/GLE 5-spoke Wheels??

I was just wondering what you guys think because I kinda like the look of the 2000 SE wheels on the '97-'99 SEs.

Here's a shot of a '98 SE w/ the 2000 SE style wheels. It's Gr8bone's former '98 SE:

I was kinda thinking I might put the 2000 SE wheels on my '97 SE which is coming 3/23/01 in the same color as the pic shown above. What do you guys think??

HAHA I just traded my 97 SE rims for the 2001 5 Spoke 16's. I like them better, I'll post pics soon.

Here's how I see it.

The 16's on the 97SE look stronger, while the new 5 spokes look much lighter and sportier. The new 5 spokes look more like aftermarket rims in my opinion. Also, the new ones look real nice when rolling, much better than the old 5 spokes.

2k + 5spoke 17"

Are the ones I like. But, would gladly roll on 16" of same type.

Yeah those are Dennis's rims, I rolled on them for a little over a week but decided I didn't like the performance of 18's, so i went back to 16's.

Thanks for everyones input. I think I'm gonna go ahead and get a set of the 2000+ SE/GLE wheels so I can be different from the other Maxima SE's around here. I only know of 2 other people who have these rims on their 4th generation Maximas. Then I'll keep the regular wheels as a back-up set. I would get a nice set of 17" or even 18" rims if I had the money...but I don't, and I want my car to be a sleeper and not stand out...so stock rims it is!!

Yes, I really like the 5th gen 5 spoke too. Where's the cheapest place to get them?

I was thinking about switching the 2k 5-spokes because the roads here are so bad. Then I drove some other cars around, and the roads here are so bad that even the ride in the Continental is a little harsh. So it's not worth it. But if I was going to get 16's, that's what I would get. If somebody wanted to trade me a full set with good tires and $500 for my Axels I would consider it.
