Check Engine Soon Light

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I have been trying to search the forum and I can't for some reason.

My question is...my check engine soon light came on the other day and stayed on for a couple of days, then went out and hasn't come back on. What gives?

I recently had the same problem with my 99 SE. I took it to autozone and they checked it out with their computer. It turned out to be the EGR valve and i think i paid about $100 for it. The old one was pretty dirty inside.

A loose gas cap will give a cel, then clear itself when the pressure is back. I would manually check the code.
