Code 1205???

I just replace my spark plug seals... Put everything back together.

Started it up, runs rough.. gradually idels down then shuts off.. CEL does not come on, but when I check for code I have a 1205.

Any ideas what that is related to? I'm thinking I might have bumped a connector loose or something. I went back over the engine and everything seems OK.

ideas anyone?

Thanks

1205 is the line pressure solenoid in the transmission. I have no idea how you go that code. Nick and I know this code all to well.

first thing you need to check is your drop resistor it is located on the left strut tower under the hood , right behind the stock airbox. There is a connector that plugs into it - disconnect the connector , remove the top portion on the stock air box (if you have aftermarket intake no need for removal there)

now , with any multimeter you should be able to check the resistance on the resistor - it should read between 11.8 - 12.4 Ohms - if its not showing as specified you have found your problem
the resitor is about $60 at the dealership.
here is part#31037-71L00

Quick question though - is your tranny shifting really hard from 1st to 2nd ???

if you drop resistor turns out to be ok , than you might be looking at replacing your solenoid valve assembly inside the trannsmision.

Check your ECU for codes again - it is easy to misread the flashing light and you might have 1206 code which points to throttle position in reference to Auto transmission signal fault.

PM me if you have ant Q's

Nick.

thanks for the reply nick..

I will check the resistor and verify the ECU code(s) 1st thing in the AM

I have not had a chance to check the shifting since it started acting up as soon as I fired it up from replacing the SP seals.

Thanks again for the help..

I have no idea what caused the 1205 code.. It went away as mysteriously as it arrived.

The drivability issue was determined to be a cross threaded bolt on the EGR valve, not allowing the vale to seal against the IM..

I can't scream at the mechanic because I am he

The chariot is running fine now with no codes..

Thanks Nick and LudeAEM for your help and advice
