Found out how to change color of ignition ring
This may be common knowledge but I thought I saw a thread wondering how to do it. But anyway, as I was making my guage lights blue I looked at the bulb for the ignition ring and it's a just a 74. I just ordered a blue one from www.superlumination.com (after trying to find them at some local parts stores).

Yeah, I tried a blue incandescent #74 bulb in my keyring but I didn't like the results. I searched around on eBay, and found some blue led's which are mad for the #74 bulb's socket. Just search for "blue led 74" (or whatever color you want). The username of the guy I got it from was ctlumination, if you wanna look for someone who is a good seller. I'm thinking it was around $2.00 including shipping. Looks great!!!!

Really easy mod, i didnt even use another 74 bulb. The first day, or should i say night, that i had my max i took the ignition ring out and pulled the little condom off the bulb and put a sliver of red bulb cover material i had left over and it worked like a charm. my ignition ring has been bright red for the past year and matches my red/black theme perfectly. i may just get a 74 red bulb now that i see everyone doing it so that itll shine brighter. maybe not..

I haven't changed my bulb as yet but I did make the ring alot brighter. All you have to do is tape a ring of aluminium foil around outside of the plastic difuser. You'll have to remove the black tape near the bulb area before putting the foil. On average I think it got 2-3 times brighter. I think I also did some other stuff with the foil but I can't remember right now....when I'm changing the bulb I'll probably do a write up.

You don't take it out, just follow these insructions for gettting the guages out (http://www.geocities.com/amixam69/ni...ash/index.html) until you take apart the steering column cover and you'll see some wires going into a white plastic thing on the side of ring. Just twist the bulb holder and it should come right out.
Also, it definetely doesn't come out bright enough. I was going to change the bulb out for an LED, but I think I'll try that aluminum foil thing first (that's good thinking
