Google it.

Find out the stock HP and Torque on the 300 M and vise versa for your maxima.

Searching yourself will give you a better understanding on what you going against.

EDIT:

Chysler

http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/u...ex.cfm/id/2371

Engines = ohc V6
Size liters/cu. in.= 3.5 / 215
Horsepower = 250-255
Torque EPA= 255-258
city/hgwy =4-speed automatic: 18/27

NISSAN

ENGINE:

DOHC 3.0 V6
Size liters/cu. in = 3.0 / 181
HorsePower = 190
Torque = 205
City/Hgwy = 5-speed manual: 22/27, 4-speed automatic: 21/28

Conclusion dont bet the farms or the slips on this race. Second you must remember this one thing. WHATEVER he says its still just a dodge. Dodge is the worst built car in my honest opinion, I have one and wouldnt **** on it if it caught on fire.

Good luck

it weighs a ton though. 3585 curb weight. 0-60 in 7.8 (according to edmunds... ). so who knows, might be a close match.

Even drivers he will win. With a 5spd max, you could have him. The other thing to consider is the state of tune. Before I tuned my dad's auto it was a slush box. Now it pulls like it was new.

*note* The only reason I responded is because you said "go to the track". I am tired of readin stupid "kill" posts of morons street racing. I am thinking about a rant post...

The 300M does have a faster 1/4 slip stock tto stock then a 4th gen auto. Anyway Good luck

I agree, should be a close one. Make sure you tune up your max (if didn't do it recently), because that can make a big difference. Good luck!

300m is a joke. I beat a later model 300M (the one with HID's, diamond cut tails, etc) when I was still a newbie with 5-speed pretty badly.

For such a heavy car, 300m's are pretty damn fast with the tiptronic. It handles like a boat, but in a straight line my dad's 300M was a bit faster than my auto max with an intake. Now that I have a y-pipe, I probably have a slight edge though. It'll really depend on the driver.

I think it will be a close race. I mean, if you are really good at driving, you might be able to take him.

I used to sell cars at a Chrysler/Jeep place, and the 300m's were not a slouch.

**Note: Make sure it is not the "300m Special"!! That thing will cream you. They tweaked it and it is considerably faster than the regular ones. (you can tell from the larger wheels, and the true dual exhaust on the Special. Also, it has a gray trip around the bottom.)

I would start to be careful about this coming up though. Chrysler just came out with/or is coming out with a 300n......with a strong Hemi in it.

id like to see the hemi in the 300m, that would be a sleeper. big ol fat boddied car with a nice v8 in it. no one would expect it. on a side not i finally got behind the wheel of that new dodge magnum HEMI and that is one sweet car or suv or what ever the hell it is. very roomy and has pretty impressive performance. the one we tested looked sweet, black on black leather with some nice factory chrome wheels, and a HEMI. im hoping my dad returns his caravn and jumps on this.

if you do race this 300m be sure to let us know how it goes. good luck
