ATTN: Guys with MEVI + JWT ECU
Do any of you guys have time slips comparing your times with MEVI + stock ECU vs MEVI + JWT ECU?
I'd appreciate it if you could post or link to the before and after slips, please.
Thanks for any help!

Yeah I think most or all of the guys got about 0.2 sec faster in the 1/4 mile but I was looking for the full slip posted so that I can see the 1/8 and 330' (and maybe 60') times too...
Actually dynos will help too... I will check the dyno section for that though... I know I wasn't able to find slips of before and after in the racing section. But maybe the dyno section has before and after for what I'm looking for.
So if anyone has slips, please post.
Thanks!

60': 2.204
330' : 6.200
1/8: 9.495@74.28
1000: 12.335
1/4: 14.70@95.06
My best trap with this setup was 96.2mph. With the stock manifold my best was a 14.65@96mph.
MEVI & JWT ECU:
60': 2.201
330' : 6.096
1/8: 9.302@77.14
1000: 12.062
1/4: 14.40@97.11<---this was unusually low, I usually get at least 97.5mph
My best trap with this setup was 14.45@99.51mph and typically get 98.XX. With the JWT ECU, I have about over 14.4 runs now. All with 2.2-2.3 60 foots. I do notice that the performance of this setup is very dependant on heat soak. If the engine is hot, then it's 14.5-14.6. If I let it cool off, then it's consistent 14.4s.

I am almost afraid that my JWT ECU didn't help one bit... its too bad that the track didn't hae have the 1/8 and 1/4 timers working... so my 60' and 330' times are useless.

I wanna see what Caesar, Mike, requin6, vqdriver, 96sleeper have to say about this too...
(I purposely didn't include Neal cuz he's a freak...

I can try to dig up my old slips to give you exact #'s, but I ran with my stock ECU and MEVI and later that day used neal's JWT ECU with my VI. I cut .2 on the first run with the JWT ECU. IIRC, I could have cut more but was not used to the 7200 redline and shifted way early in either the 2nd or 3rd gear shift.
I can't really compare what happend when I got my ECU becuase I had been having issues with the VI opening and way too many other vairiables going on.
So what did you run with the JWT??

anyone?IIRC, he was comparing runs with the VI opening and not opening and that is how he saw .4 gain. I believe this was before dyno's showed significant mid range torque loss from the VI so he did not realise that was not a real comparison for before and after the VI. An auto would see more gains anyhow since they have the longer gears.

RT: 0.540 (0.500 tree)
60': 2.280 (PB = 2.18; 2.25 when I ran my 1/4 PB of 14.49 without ECU)
330': 6.286 (PB = 6.167 when I ran my 1/4 PB)
So yeah... I learned nothing this weekend thanks to the mickey mouse management at the track. They do a whole host of other things wrong, but I won't get into that now.

The first runs with the MEVI with the old tranny were under MUCH hotter and humid conditions too!
Mike, I assume you are asking me? This weekend with the addition of the JWT, I only got slips with RT, 60' and 330'. I wasn't really able to focus on bringing ETs down as much as was focused on beating the guy in the next lane... it was a free-for-all day since the track timers weren't working. But here's what I managed:

Just consider that day a leagal street race day and wait to make any conclusions once you can get real data.
with the JWT ECU vs. the stock ECU on the dyno i picked up as much as 9fwhp in the midrange and as much as 11.5fwtq in the midrange. not to mention the amount of power still being produced up to 7k rpm. you can see the AFR is much smoother on the JWT ECU. the stock ecu goes a little rich in the midrange thus the power increase by having the smooth AFR from the JWT ECU.
i did not run with just the VI or just the JWT ECU...but i went from a 14.5 (intake, Y, UDP) to a LOW 14.3 (mods + jwt ecu, vi) not to mention the trap speeds i gained. i went from consistant 95mph to consistant 98mph traps and the occaisional nearly 100mph trap.

speed - hey man, Im running the stock US manifold, and technosquare upgraded ecu. im very interested in this post because im very tempted to get the MEVI, if technosquare will extend the rev limiter soon !

What did you run with USM and stock ECU (all other mods being the same)?
I hope some of the other MEVI+JWT guys can share their slips like Dave and Mike too. FYI, here's what Mike had to say (hope you don't mind me quoting you from the other thread Mike):

Looks like for me, a 330' under 6.1 will be a good run. I have older data, still with my JWT ECU and VI, but I was not using race gas back then and had issues with my VI not opening. But every car is different.

At the time it was really exciting however.
