My car has been sitting for a while and is now making a knocking noise. It keeps up with the engine and sounds like there is no oil in the valve train or something. Does your car make a ticking noise if your knock sensor is smoked? Please help if youve got some advice or recomendations...good news is more appreciated than bad.

is it a deep knocking sound, or more of a light tapping?

its a light tapping like a valve or something, my car has also been starting up weird with like a screeching sound and a bad knocking sound on startup, i thought it was just because the oil was all at the bottom of the pan, i should do a oil change and look for some metal.

That happend to me, it was constant not just on starter, ended up being the timing chain tensionor was broken or something... Whatever it was it was a costly repair.. if it is that.

Every once in a while, my car makes a deep knocking sound right when I start her up. Should I just take it in to get it checked? I just did a synthetic Mobil-1 oil change, + filter.
