I've replaced the bulb, still not lighting. Obviously a problem with the wiring. Is this typical? How can I remedy the situation?

Try just removing the assembly and checking to see if maybe one of the wires vibrated loose or something. Kinda slim chance that it would, but it could be the problem.

Nope, checked that. The passenger side door works. I took the passenger side assembly and hooked it to the driver side and it doesnt work, that is why it's a wiring problem.
