Why did you fight with him...did you tell him what car you getting it for? I simply go to the counter and specifically ask for the NGK BKR5E-11. The guy at the counter just simply reply with "okay, let me check if we have it"

I did too.
I went to two different stores and they tried to give me those BKR6E-11 too. They just had a hard time looking up the coppers that I wanted. The ones listed for our cars are the plats.

NAPA knew exactly what I was talking about and got them right away for me.

Yeah but I had previously asked them before about something else and I had to give them my car so they assumed the NGKS were for the maxima... so they gave me a hard time, the stock boy took like 3 years in the back looking for them, in the end, they didnt have them..

Just tell them you need 6 BKR5E-11. Explain they are listed for the 97 Altima. If tehy try to tell you that you need the Platnium plugs, tell them you have been using these plugs for years and they work great! That usually shuts them up. I actually argued with the parts counter guy at Advanced Auto. He said you can't use copper plugs in a car that comes with platnium plugs.

so we want the copper not the platinum? what is the difference?platinum seems easier being as they dont have to be gapped, and yes why would nissan throw in platinum if we should be running copper?to make extra loot possibly?

Platinum is not a good conductor, it is used for longevity.

The best conductors currently used for spark plugs are :
1. Silver
2. Copper
3. Gold
4. Platinum
5. Nickel
6. Steel

If your goal is not to change plugs for 50,000 miles go Platinum. If your goal is performance definately Copper.

on a side note..

here is an interesting article about splitfire plugs

i was retarted and did'nt asky anyone's opinion on what spark plugs to get when i did my tune up. I put in BOSCH +2 aprk plugs. Is this gonna hurt my car or performance? I've heard some people say that BOSCH spark plugs cause serious damage. Is it worth it for me to switch them out now?

slow my a$$ . same here i used platinum for yrs with boost and nitrous, i just recently changed because so many people said they were better, i don't know im stupid. but for non force induced cars i suggest stay with platinum they run the car perfectly unless your trying to save some money.
