rear struts clicity clacking

i have new illuminas in my rear with sprints and miata dust boots with all the correct hardware installed.. i sappose. did it myself after hp's blew.. anyway since the install theve been making a clickity clack sound every time i hit a bump but not if i push down on the trunkhard... not sure if its cause i trimmed to much off the bump stop or what but im sure some of you guys have experiance with this sound... please get back to me asap this is driving me up a bloddy wall!!!!!!!!!
