97 Maxima Mod Ideas / Suggestions

Hello, i've been reading these forums for quite some time... but now that its pretty much official that i'm getting my automatic 97 maxima as my first car. i decided it's time to post here :-).

I have spring break next week, so i figured if i'm not er.. "occupied" with "things" then i'll probably start modding the Maxima.

For starters im looking to do something that won't cost much (i'm jobless, this car isn't officially "mine" ... yet, and i'm looking to do it over a boring weekend / some point during spring break.)

If any of you have any suggestions for performance / cosmetic mods, that are cheap ($20 or less) or free, that you have done, and are happy with, please share.

1. from what i've seen i could remove the emblems from the maxima, then remove the glue with goo gone, and then polish it up.

2. make a mesh grille

3. change the background for a clock

4. Darken tail lights

5. Clear out tail lights

- open to suggestions

- my only problem with all of these, is they are all cosmetic modifications... which isn't to big of a problem... but when i do "get" the car i want to put my money and time into performance... i've never really seen a "ricey" maxima, but i for damn sure don't want to be the first

- Open to suggestions / comments / ideas. Thanks in advance

yes, cosmetic mods for cheap. the grill is one, so are clear corners and i also went and put mesh in my air vents -looks great, never seen it done- if you do it right. and a good cleaning always looks nice. if you dont like those mudflaps. take em off too along with the emblems and then on to your performance mods

thanks for the happy wishes ... lol

as far as the "good cleaning" goes.. what product/s do you use? im not really concerned with polishing cause this b*tch hit the rear bumper and scratched it up a bit, leaving some of her red paint job on my beige.... (had a mechanic get rid of the dents)...

im thinking of maybe going to home depot after i find the nissan maxima beige color code online and buying that spray to get rid of the nastyness that woman left...

it's nothing major ... if i do decide to keep the maxima (ive been thinking lately of selling it after several months and combining saved up money to buy something that could get me to do a close to 10second 1/4 mile for a smaller investment...) then i'll probably end up body kitting the whole thing.

and as for as the de-embliming, you don't think that's a little ricey? i'm undecided on that... i mean sometimes i think it looks good and other times i want to pull the driver out of the passenger window and knock his face in ... but then i get a hold of myself when i remember it's a maxima he's driving after all
