Water Temp TOOO High
Water Temp TOOO High
Last night I was sitting in the car in a parking lot for like 35 minutes with the A/C on and charging a cellphone. When I went to drive away I noticed that my Water temp gauge was all the way to the "H" redline. I had to stop open the hood and let it cool down. Then as I was in the front of my g/f's house, I was parked for like 10 minutes no A/C, just the car on and it started rising but I figured it wasnt that high, so as I was driving away and it went down. I dont know what the problem is, and I dont want to take it to a mechanic, I figured maybe someone in the org has had the same problem and could help me out. Any help? Thanx

Make sure your coolant isn't low!!! I had a similar problem...I would be driving and my temp. gauge would go hot and then back down to normal several times. Found out that my coolant was low so I added some more and it hasn't went hot since. Try that before you pay someone to look at it.
Hope thats all thats wrong.

I checked that this morning and it was full. I also dont think that my radiator fans were turning on last night. I checked the rad fan fuses and they were fine, dont know what else it might be
your thermostat might be on the verge of freezing, it could be getting caught every once and a while causing the engine to overheat sparatically. if that is the problem eventually it will either freeze open or shut. either way its pretty simple to pull it out and test that it is working properly.

3 things:
-coolant level
-thermostat
-fans
With the fans, I'm not sure how they're operated on the max, but most are activated by a temp sensor. Normally one will turn on at a certain temp and the other at a second higher temp. The sensor could be bad.
