Painting stock se wheel center caps

i like many owners of the stock 5 spoke se wheels have discolored center caps. i would like to paint them but i dont know what kind of paint i should use on them. if anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated, i hope to paint them this week because they are just getting really bad looking at this point. thanks in advanced!

i read a thread awhile ago that said to use duplicolor wheel coating... and that the color match would be really close... you can get this stuff at autozone or online at duplicolor.com (if you didn't already know)

I also have been contemplating painting the center caps because I hve the same problem. I am afraid that if I paint them I will have to end up painting the whole rim. Do the plastic center caps come off easily and do they go back on easily? Would be nice if I could just paint those apart from the rim.

they do come off... how? i don't know, but i have seen people with painted rims and no center caps... on some aftermarket wheels there is a ring on the backside of them. so i would say take your wheel off and look on the back of it. It should be self explanitory...

i have a set of four if any one wants to buy them , they need painting, let them go for 10 dollars. what you do is take off the rim and pop them out from the inside

well before anyone replyed to my thread here, i decided to make a trip to advanced auto parts, i bought the duplicolor wheel coating, the one that i got matches the stock color almost perfectly. I painted them last night, now i just got to decide on if i want to get clear coat to put on them to protect them. And as far as the center caps coming off, u dont even need to take the wheel off. i simply used two of those really small flat head screw drivers and slowly and carefully pryed the caps out. i did that and had no problem at all.
