what is the difference between the various trims the maxima comes in, ie; SE, GLE etc. cause im looking into getting a max' and want to know what to look for

And honestly, if you want people to read your threads, why don't you title it where someone would want to. The way yours is titled, makes nobody want to read it.
Just a hint....and would probably keep you from some flaming.

SE=Sports Edition(might be Special Edition....doesn't really matter):
........Sporty suspension, white-faced gagues, everything else optional.

SE-L=Special Edition Limited: (only 1999.5)
......Titanium colored gagues, badges, wheels. SE-L floor mats. SE embossed seats. Special Limited colors(like mine).

GLE=(Who Cares what the real title is?):
......This is the Luxury Edition. It has the good wheels, leather, (always auto), auto climate control, and just about everything else you can get.

GXE=Base Model:
.....Biggest reason why this one is good.....you can get it in a 5spd. The only ones you can get in a 5spd from the factory are the SE & GXE (of course the SE-L falls into this because it is an SE).
......usually cloth, hubcaps, sometimes stick, manual air controls...etc.
