Should values from bank 1 & 2 o2's be the same?
Should values from bank 1 & 2 o2's be the same?
Hey guys, my question is exactly that. Should the values from the o2 sensors on bank 1 & 2 be the same or nearly the same? Or, do they not corrospond much at all. As you can see from the graph below bank 2 is very different and jumpy compared to bank 1. I am asking this because I have an o2 sensor in my hand that was shipped by mistake instead of the rear heated that I need. I would like to replace both fronts eventually but I have this one right now and don't want to pay return shipping. Which bank you think I should put it in? Also, I assume that bank 1 is the front or left bank. Correct? Whoops! Looks like car domain blocked the key. Yellow=Bank 1. Purple=Bank 2 I'm leaning towards bank 2 because that big spike at the beginning seems like a red herring for a bad sensor. I don't know, just guessing. Anyone? Thanks in advance.
They SHOULD be the same. Both of them are the same distance away from the header so the readings should read the same. I would think they also send the same signals and values as they do the exact same thing except each does it for a separate bank. As far as I know each bank should be exactly as the other is. If you're asking if a rear O2 will fit in the front then no, they seem to be smaller than the fronts.
Thanks for the input. Anyone with definite info? Like results from another car with values. Speculation is good but I need hard facts. If not I'll have to test Masaccio's car out this weekend. I realize that the fronts and rear are a different size. I ordered that one today, but mistakenly ordered the front originally when I wanted the rear. But, now that I have the front I'm not gonna pay to have it shipped back seeing as mine have 129K on them. Anyone else with an opinion or info would be great.
Bank 1 is by the firewall. Bank 2 is at the front of the vehicle. The sensor with the slower voltage jumps is the one I would replace. Readings of both sensors shouldn't be the same. If they were suppose to be the same value, then Nissan would've used only one to save money.

I have narrowband gauges on both banks. They do not jump back and forth with each other. They start out together and slowly get out of sinc. I asked DBM about this cause I thought they'd bounce the same but he said it is normal for them not to.
Thanks guys. So let me make sure I got it. Bank 1 is the right side. And your suggesting I replace bank 1 because it isn't being as re-active as it should. Does it appear that I have to replace them at all? They are orginal so I would assume the need to be replaced.
