Automatic 95 Maxima help????

Ok my sister recently got a used 95 Maxima, automatic and she needs some help.

First her air conditioners only works at full speed. What can be wrong.
Exactly what kind of gasoline this car needs, I believed is 89 or 92 since is a V6. What is your input.

What kind a mileage should she expect city and highway. Also what can be done to improve gas mileage on this type of vehicle.

What type of oil, filters and such do you recommend for the next tune-up.

I have a 99 corolla and don't know much about nissan needs so I hope you guys can help and maybe I learn a little more.

Thank you in advance for your inputs

I think I've seen the AC problem in the faqs. If not somebody may have a link to it. I use 93. Anything 91 or above will be best, a lower octane can be used but the car won't perform like it should and the mileage will suffer. I got 27 mpg last time I checked with a moderately heavy foot, but that's about the best I've heard of people getting. The best thing for mileage is good maintenance (look around for threads on spark plugs, fuel filters, TB cleaning, knock sensor, and probably others I've forgotten--there have been lots of threads on these lately). For the oil etc. there's a fluids and lubricants forum that should answer your questions if you look around.

i'll have to look around about the ac, there have been some threads so i'll see if i can find them for you.

she should be using premium unfortunately...

mileage varies but in my 95 auto, i typically get 340-390 miles per tank = ~24 mpg. not close to your corolla but they're different cars...

stick with oem nissan oil filters

hope that helps

you need at least 91 octane to run the engine at maximum performance. anything below that is pretty iffy. also regularly scheduled maintenance ie oil filter, oil change, clean vb, tire pressure, etc if you want to improve gas mileage. like all the things Terran stated check all those things. good luck.

Your fan needs a new "Resistor". Tell the dealer that and they'll know exactly what you are talking about. The part and labor shouldn't be too much. Lata!
