Knock Sensor Help...
Hey,
i just checked my ECU and found it was throwing the 0304 code. I suspected it was bad bc i get about 230 miles to a tank. yucky. Also it feels slow since a stock 96? camaro kept up with me. I reset the ecu then just check it again and its throwing it again. Im not get the CEL so im pretty sure its the KS. Just wanted to make sure i found the culprate. IF this is the problem what kinda of difference am i going to see once i replace it? I found one on EBAY for $99 and $2 shipping. If anybody needs one do a search for Maxima Knock. he has 40 of them.
Thanks for the help,
Sean

knock sensor MOD is the best mod ever .
seriously you will notice and Very big difference in power with the know sensor.
they say you get better gas milage 300-400 but I can't remember how it was before I changed it. so i don't know.

"the car is slower when the KS goes bad bc it automatically slows the engine down right?"
Not really. When the KS is bad, the ECU assumes that knock is occurring and does not advance the timing. This hurts low end power under accleration. You can read my KS post at http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=254238 (3rd post).
I went from 25 to 27 mpg (mostly highway) after replcing mine. Don'e expect dramatic improvements in fuel economy. Lots of people get bad mileage with a good KS. MY wife gets ~22 on her Max (same year as mine) mostly because of more around town driving.
