VSS and KS problems
Hey,
New to the forum and wondering if anyone can help me out. About 6 mos ago replaced the instrument cluster in my 96SE when the ododmeter stopped. No problems. Wednesday the check engine light comes on, and thru the previous posts I'm able to determine a couple of things: DTC 0104 (Vehicle Speed Sensor) and 0304 (Knock Sensor).
I took the VSS out and tested it for voltage. It is generating voltage as it spins and for all I can tell, the ododmeter and speedo work fine and are accurate on the highway.
The knock sensor passes the OHM test mentioned in one of other threads, and I'm getting 390-400+ miles on a tank at 75MPH with the a/c on.
I'm hesitant to spend the $250+ for these sensors, and the only reason I mention the cluster replacement is I'm wondering if that alone is causing the VSS error? (Matched Set?? Unlikely) Not sure what's next, your thoughts??
