broken odometer

'95 SE. About 85000 miles. 5 speed. The odometer doesn't register anymore. All else works including tach and speedometer. Anyone else have this problem. Is it likely the drive cable?

Thanks,
Tom

My 96 does the same, it'll register every other mile, sometimes all, sometimes none. I can't help right now, looking for the answer too. My tach is also jumpy sometimes.

Seems as if my car is falling apart!

Check the conections in the back. If it works sometimes and doesn't the other it should tell you there is a loose wire somewhere.

i had same problem... i open the old odometer and i notice that odometer motor gear was not working. so i tried to find the part, but no luck. what i did was replace with used odometer instrument cluster. it's cheaper then repairing your broken odometer. trust me.. repair shop asking for $220.. dang~

try this web site, i got mine for $60 or ebay....

http://www.car-part.com/

look under speed odomter or instrument cluster
