Will a 96 mustang gt 17in rims fit a 97 gxe?? The only reason I ask is that I'm going to the track in a couple weeks and my tire's are supreme crap. My roomate has a mustang and said I could borrow if they fit. Any info? Thanx in advance

They fit a 3rd gen, so yes, probably. The 3rd gen has a bit more strict offset requirement than the 4th, so you should be all right.

If they have the same bolt pattern as a 95 Taurus then the answer is no. The 5 lugs will not line up. I tried my dads 95 taurus rims (to get an alignment on the computer alignment machine) and they would not fit.

I bought a set of 17 inch Niche Bahns from a guy off of his Intrepid (american car) and they didn't fit. I wouldn't think that the mustang wheels would fit. Call up Nissan and find a knowledgable person to give you a definitive answer. I am almost positive that they won't fit.

Jeff92SE has wheels from that generation Mustang on his 3rd gen. Unless he modified them in some way, they will fit a 4th gen, since their offset requirements are more strict than ours. Another 3rd gen has the wheels from that generation Cobra. The 3rd gen (as we know) has the same bolt pattern as the 4th gen. Judge for yourself...

Thanx, I'll give it a try, what's it gonna hurt? If they don't fit, oh well...

They should fit...

But since the Max needs an offset of 35-45mm, and the Mustang uses 32mm, the wheel/tire will stick out just a bit past your fender. Normally, it'd splash water, dirt, mud, etc down the side of your Max. But, since it's just for a track day, you'll be fine.
