y Pipe on my 99

Finally put my Y pipe on today. I paid $150 for a NIB Warpspeed and $125 to install it. It only cost me $40 to get the Y pipe installed on my 96. So I got ripped off but oh well.

My car is cali spec and so far no apparent improvement. Except for the burning paper smell in my car. My 96 showed immediate improvement in acceleration. Anyone else have similar experiences on their 99? I reset the ECU and it still feels the same. I drove it for 2 hrs today.

If I don't notice a difference in the next week, off it goes. It's a lot louder now and I'm not use to that anymore.

just got mine on tonight... i feel a bit of a power increase, and a definite louder exhaust note, but not too much louder.. it's a bit throatier too-- and I also had the burning paper smell for like 2 hours.. then it went away... only issues we ran into with my pipe were that the bolts on my cat were so corroded that we had to take everything including the cat off, and replace mine with my friend's off his 98 max... other than that no fitment issues

The burning smell is caused by lubricant or other coatings used in the bending process. It does no harm and only lasts a couple hours until it burns off. You can avoid the smell by hosing the pipe out before installing it.

Your ECU usually takes a few days to relearn the increase in air, until then it usually acts slightly performance degraded. That's how mine felt.
