AUTO TO 5 SPEED i need help

i've got a 95 gxe and im sick of this automatic...ive always wanted standard and ive heard the autos are really sluggish among the maximas so i want to switch to a 5 speed and be able put my car to its full potential. Does anyone know where i should look for trannys or a place i can get everything i will need? how do i go about starting this process? what do i need? if u can help me out it would be great. thanks

Actually just buying a transmission won't even be a good start, you're better off searching local salvage yards for a 5-speed car and getting all the parts you'll need at one time.

what worked for me was finding a wrecked 5sp car, that way you get all the parts you need, and parts you can sell later, for about the price of a junkyard tranny alone. and if you can drive/shift the car, you can be sure the parts function. check autotrader/local classifieds/ebay

Do yourself a favor and sell your car and just buy a 5-speed.

yea selling my car and buying a new one might work except that mine has 110k miles and is only worth about 5500 and i wouldnt be able to buy a new one of equal value considering im a poor college student.

i started by trying to sell mine, but you get NOTHING for a trade-in, and if you sell outright, you'll need a second form of transportation...
