how hard is it? do people usually do this one themselves, or is it a big pain??

Pretty easy - get yourself an O2 sensor socket - you can rent one for free from Autozone... Get some PB Blaster or some other penetrating fluid (not WD-40).. also available from Autozone or an equivalent. Let the penetrant soak for a few minuts - it will make removal much easier.... nothing much too it - unscrew the old one, and screw the new one in... my new sensors (I replaced both fronts at the same time) came with anti-seize on them .. if yours don't have anti-seize on them, I would recommend applying some on the threads before putting them on... be careful not to get any anti-seize on the actual sensor surface.
