Folks,

I need a quick answer on what you see to be the difference between going with 225/55/16 tires or 225/50/16 tires on my stock 16" SE alloys. I am going with Z-Rated Yokohama AVS dB. Will there be much of a difference between the sizes? I know the speedo-difference will be slight, but I need to know about wheel rubbing issues or unsprung-weight problems. Any insight into owners with both of these sizes would be great. I have lowered my car with H&Rs.

Tire size for 99 SE

I have similar questions -
It's almost time to replace the stock Toyo Proxes on my '99 Max SE-Limited.
52k miles and still rolling - not too bad. The stock tires are 215/55/16.
I think I've seen a set of 225/50/16 tires on the same rims, and they looked
pretty good (made the car look a little more "hefty"). Does anyone have
experience with going up one size in width with stock rims? Would this
likely affect the handling at all or give me uneven tire wear? I think the
total diameter would be about the same.

Pete, did you ever get these tires? I am about to replace my stock RS/A's which I only got about 25K miles from. I'm going with 225/50/16 and have narrowed it down to the Yoko AVS db or the Dunlop SP5000. I'm leaning towards the Yoko's.
