Y pipe SUPER LOUD?

Hey i just installed my y pipe...wow were thoes bolts hard to get off on the cat. Anyways I started my car and WTF it sounds soooooo loud i need ear plugs when driving. Please tell me my cat is leaking it sure as hell sounds like it is but I don't know if that is just how the warpseed y is suppose to sound. I also have a greddy cat back. I knew it would be louder but not this freakin loud. Well tomorrow i'm gonna check it out but i'm sooo worried right now cause if it does sound how it is i'm ****ed cause it ruined my greddy cat back sound. Please some one with the same setup give me a good description of the sound. (drones, sounds like crap, loud to the point u wanna cover ur ears....ect.) thanks

I have the same exact setup (WS y-pipe, hi-flow car, Greddy SP) and right after i had it installed, it was loud as hell. At that time i almost regretted getting the y-pipe, but after a week it has quieted down a lot. Just make sure all your bolts are tight and let it break-in for a week. Its been about 3 weeks since I had it installed and it almost sounds like it was when I only had the Greddy. Just a side question, did the combo of y-pipe and cat push ur exhaust system out by 1-2 inches?

Tighten up.. Maybe your alignment is off a bit.

Did mine about a week ago... Under normal driving its pretty much the same as stock. Under WOT it's definitely louder than stock in a rather nice way... Grrrrrrrowl!
THe only bug I've got is a hard launch will cause a marbles in a can sound. Feels like its comming from right under the shifter or behind the stereo. I have a feeling it might be the pipe hitting the transmission casing where the factory bracket used to be. Having a bracket made up and welded on to see if that is the problem.

why don't you get a nice big resonator on there to quiet it down? i have one and it's still too loud for me...it's not that bad, but i'm just sick of exhaust noise all together.

Well i don't have an aftermarket cat I have a stock one and it lined up fine. But i mean is the car suppose to constantly drone? It seriously sounds as if i have no exahaust after the cat. I'm gonna tighten up the bolts and let ya know but if it doesn't get any better i feel like taken it off.

Yea, you might want to double check the gaskets, might not be on there right. Double check the 02 sensors too. Sounds like a leak somewhere.

This is definitely a leak. Fix it and report back. I have a similar setup and its a very nice tone. Burbly idle and deep up to WOT then tone deminishes.

Definitely its the gaskets.
I have the Budget Y-pipe and stock B and muffler. Very very quiet.

Greddy cat back with it seems like the perfect mix. Thanks guys for ur help. The sound i was hearing before was basically no exhaust going to the b pipe hahaha it was louder than a broke cheve truck hahaha

You pretty much have the same setup as me. I can feel alot on the high end with the y pipe. I noticed from my 5sp (hard to test in a auto) that through first gear from a roll to WOT the wheels break lose and squeal alot more than when the car was stock. The sound of the intake definitly makes me drive as if my car was 10 times faster than stock haha. But my roommate just bought the y pipe and he claims that u need to reset ur ecu for full effect to take place. I drove his auto with only y pipe and intake and it feels faster than stock. I am still testing it out give me a week and i'll let u know what i think of it. But in conclusion trough the "Butt and hearing dyno" i gained a few horses

My car did that for 2 weeks, now it's quiet. I tried to get the car to make the noise so another org member could hear it and ever since ....nothing

Never even got off my butt to look under the car.
