Can a bad motor mount cause engine knock?

I was thinking that if I have a bad motor mount, and the engine shakes cause of it, would it trip the knock sensor? It may saound like a stupid question, but I rather have someone tell me im wrong rather than not know at all. I have a bad motor mount where the automatic transmission is, so there is a big diffeence when shifting from drive/nuetral, to all the drive gears. It shakes a lot more, and perhaps the shaking would cause a knock or something. Thanks for the help.

The KS is essentially a crystal that is frequency sensitive. Meaning it senses pre-ignition level knocks that are a higher frequency than an engine mount would make.
I can't imagine you would get KS activity from a bad mount.
I've read on some racing forums where they placed the KS on the firewall because the buzz in the Y-pipes they use was setting off the KS and backing off timing. Again, that would still be a higher frequency so it makes sense.

Having a bad engine mount isn't a good idea either way. Best to get that fixed b4 something else is affected.

I asked my local Nissan dealer this exact question a few weeks ago. The techs said that the mount would have to be so bad, you'd be afraid to drive the car. So, no, bad mounts won't cause the KS to trip.

you might feel a little more jerk to the engine with the y-pipe on there and a bad motor mount. Since the y-pipe is giving you more power, this would only be natural. Although it is not good. Get it fixed before something else goes wrong, as stated already.

We have electrical motor mounts, some of them, so yes it can probably set of the ECU.
