keyless remote entry question need help!!!

hey guys,

I bought a certified car and dealership never gave me a remote for it. so i had the cobra remote starter added to it. but i really like the orignal remote thing. IF i get a remote from ebay with programing instructions do i still need to take it to the dealership or can i do it my self. cuz dealerships charge an arm and a leg for these things. I am really sick and tired of putting the key in every time. please help.!!!

thanks

nick

Normally you can link a new remote to your car in 2 minutes. I did this myself with the original keyless entry module and remote. Bought the remote on e-bay for $22.

I don't know about that cobra remote starter.

If you are talking about a new key then you have to go to the stealership.

The code for my stock remote is:

FCC ID: A269ZUA078; ISC 700 K1359

I've got a second remote with instructions.
1. Get in the car, close and lock all doors
2. Insert and remove key from ignition more tahn 6 times within 10 seconds. The hazard light will then flash twice. At this time any coriginal ID codes are eliminated.
3. Turn ignition key to ACC position.
4. Push "Lock" button on the new remote once. The hazard light will then flash twice. At this time the remote code was recorded into your remote module.
5. If additional remotes need to be activated then unlock the driver's door and lock it back again using the door lock ****.
6. Push "Lock" button on the second remote once. The hazard light will then flash twice. At this time the second remote code was recorded into your remote module.
7. You can record up to 4 remotes using steps 5 and 6.
8. When done, turn ignition to OFF and open the driver's door.
9. Verify all remotes.
