reading another thread i saw that you can get a test pipe with an o2 hole from budget wich made me wonder if this can solve the issue of using the sp2 cat back besides the lenght of exhaust i really like the sp2 exhaust but from what greddy wrote me a few days ago it wont be released for the 97-99 max anytime soon i if i keep waiting i will end up spending it i asked for any info on cattman or frankencar cb without luck im pretty sure i dont want obx megan or any other

Holy **** is that a long sentence. It doesn't really matter if there is a hole or not as $10 at a muffler shop will get you a hole put into the SP2.

The SP2 has a hole already for an O2 sensor so you wouldn't have to drill an additional one.

I would also like to know this. I have looked at other exhausts out there but the sp2 seems to be my favorite. How much longer would the sp2 need to be extended to fit properly on my 99 max? Would a muffler shop be able to do this? I really dont like the idea of cutting up a brand new exhaust system, but it seems that right now this is the only way to go if you want an awsome sounding exhaust.

The reason why you "can't" use the SP2 on a 97+ is because it's too short and the tip won't clear the rear bumper. It has an additional O2 hole; I have one and had to plug it with a bolt because my cat is where my downstream O2 goes.

i'm not saying your wrong cause i dont have the SP2 but i find it very strange that it has the hole for the 02 sensor. besides size, the main reason the SP2 was for 95-96 models or any catback made for 95-96 models is because the 02 sensor is found on the cat converter. 95-96 maxima's dont have an 02 sensor hole/bong on their catbacks, they are on the cat converter. 97+ however have tthem on the b-pipe. So if its meant for 95-96, i find it strange that it has the hole in the b-pipe....not to sayt his cant be easily worked out but from previous catbacks, they dont have this setup for 95-96 models.

I have the SP2; it's there, trust me I was a little confused as to why it was there too and was lucky I could find a bolt big enough to screw into it.

on a 97+ i dont see why it would trip since the cat doesnt have any electrics hooked up tot he rest of the car but i think i heard of ecu reading something funny because of missing cat...

Yeah, in theory. The muffler bolts to the b-pipe before the rear beam though so be careful you don't extend into the undercarriage of the car.
