Selling My Max Question

I think i'm going to sell my Maxima. I'm looking at getting a truck. The Max just isn't so practical anymore.

'98 SE auto, 115,000 miles (80% highway), Forest Green/Beige interior.

Intake, clear corners, red/clear tails.

The interior and outside haven't changed much since I got it two years ago. There is still a green stain on the back rear seat and the rear door panels are still slightly faded. Water got in the left door molding and pushed it out to where it got caught in the front door, but all you can tell now is that the paint has wrinkles in it. I replaced a rim from driving off the side of the pavement. I just hit a deer a couple weeks ago and insurance has already sent me a check. I just have to pay the balance whenever I get it fixed. The right front fender will get replaced and the hood gets repainted. It also needs new front oxygen sensors and a front end alignment (not from the deer).

I also just had all four rotors turned and the rear pads replaced. Oil was changed religiously as well as the 60k mile tune up. A/C is real cold and the heat is real...hot.

I paid $15k two years ago. I still owe about 9k on it.

How much do you think I could get for it? Also, if anyone is really interested, email me at justinneitzey@gmail.com. I can get you pictures of anything you want.

Wow 15k ouch. Granted that was two year ago but still. You can buy an 02 with above average miles like your car for 15k. I say you would be lucky to sell it for 9k and break even. Just my .02

I definitely don't think you are going to get 9k for it... you don't mention if you have leather, Bose etc.. but I wouldn't expect to get much more than 7.5-8k back on it...

Yeah, you got ripped, and obviously, you had a pretty steep interest rate.
I doubt you will be able to get 9 for it, even if it was in good condition with low mileage.

I would possibly suggest parting it out. You would be able to get as much for the parts I think as you would be able to get for the car, if everything is in working order. Then, you can just add the check from the insurance to that and get yourself a truck.

Good luck.

That is generally how depreciation works. Trust me, it was a very average deal.

I wouldn't mind only paying it off. I wasn't trying to make money, I just wanted some opinions.
