IATS - Help please
so yesterday i drove on the highway, didn't drive hard or anything, park my car, and when i come back from the store, the check engine light comes on. when i got home (it was on the whole way home) i checked the code the ECU was giving, it gave 04 01 (intake air temperature sensor). i checked the resistance, although above 68 being that it was about 90 outside, and it was reading about 1.8k ohms. i figured maybe it just got hot because the cone filter hadn't been cleaned for a while, and it was getting really hot in there... but cleaning that obviously didn't work. anyway, i cleared the code, and this morning it didn't come on. but on my way home (my car had been parked outside in the sun, but this shouldn't really matter) it came on again. same code. i don't know if maybe the sensor is faulty, or if the circuit was shorted out (but i don't know how to check for that) or if the wiring is bad. i'm thinking that it most likely is the wiring, cuz i had to splice it to reach the end of the cone filter, and maybe the spliced locations came loose. is there any way i can check to see if it is the wiring? thanks
