Audio wiring diagrams

I'm replacing the radio/tape unit in a 97 model. As usual the factory wiring color coding does not match the aftermarket units. Does anyone know which color wire is which or if there is an on-line diagram somewhere. The Chiltons manual does not have it and every time I try to search threads here I get a message I'm not allowed access.

Thanks

hey, i had to go to the far stretches of the earth to find the wiring diagram for my cars stereo. I went to our public library, and got access to AllData, and they had exactly what i needed. I'm not sure if you have access to AllData, but they have the diagrams for everything in the car. I'd scan the diagrams for you, but i dont have a scanner

Why not just get a wiring harness to fit the Max?

Unless you've already cut the factory harnesses off..

Thanks guys. carstereohelp and the12volt were very helpful. Wiring harness adapters to suit Maximas aren't readily available in Australia.

Regards.

The big difference why this thread is of little use (and didn't need a bump) is that 99.9% of us don't live in Australia. The wiring harnesses are readily available for us to install a radio. DON'T CHOP OFF YOUR FACTORY HARNESS TO INSTALL A DECK OR AMP!!!!! Make it easy on yourself and spend 10 bucks on a harness.
