Stillen Y-Pipe

I just bought a stillen y pipe from some guy. He sold it to me cheap because he thought that it was too loud and he didnt like it. He told me though that he felt a pretty big power gain. I am going to install it in the next week or so. I was wanting some ideas on how to quiet it down. Should I put on a resonator, would that help out? I need ideas or stories from current y pipe owners. Thanks.

I would slap that thing on asap! Y-pipe is good. I've had it on my 98 for a long time. The only problem is the bees-in-a-can sound. That can be fixed if u simply use some exhaust wrap... The culprit in making the loud *** noise would have to be the muffler. Am I right guys?

i dont think you can quiet it down, i got rid of mine beacuse i didnt like the sound of it in 1 and 2 gears, just went back to stock this past thurdsay, you cant wrap it beacuse my WS which was aluminum would have rusted out, im not sure if stainless steel reacts the same way though.
